The shortfall in properties available to rent in Australia has caused all sorts of problems for those looking for somewhere to live. Holiday makers are, of course, exempt from the tough times as booking holiday accommodation is simple enough. Hotels, motels and country cabins are plentiful, and it's perhaps the criteria of cost, quality and availability 'over the week' that's the hot issue here. However, there are times when it's more affordable (and convenient) to find a house or apartment to accommodate a large family or group of friends for just a couple of weeks than it is to stay in several rooms of a hotel or motel.
And sometimes it's not even holiday type accommodation you're after. Furnished short term or short stay rental houses, the likes of which are often sought by migrants for the first couple of weeks immediately after arrival in Australia, are becoming increasingly difficult to find.

Students on an Australian working visa may seek shared housing or backpacker type accommodation. Similarly, international students may seek accommodation close to a university. To assist with students we're in the process of adding a separate section to the web site. I'm sure this will be a growing part of the web site and we encourage students and landlords to get in touch.

Where do you begin? Fill in the holiday home form and whizz it over to us. We'll review it, let you know if there are any problems (unlikely, but it's worth us taking a peek before we upload your details, just to be sure) and we'll supply you with an email address to forward the photos on to, in your own good time. Why not include them with the form? Well, we think it's better this way as it gives you more time to chose the best ones without being rushed, and anyway, not everyone has their photos handy at the time. We'll need at least 2 photos, but you're more than welcome to forward up to 7.
